What is a swim dress?
Swim dress — is a one-piece women's swimsuit with a built-in skirt, which makes the garment visually resemble a short summer dress. The term is derived from the fusion of the English words swim (swim) and dress (dress).

When explaining what a swim dress is, it's important to note its construction: it's a full-fledged swimsuit, with a skirt concealing classic swimming trunks (briefs or shorts) connected to a bra. Standard fabrics (nylon, polyester, elastane, spandex) are used for the construction, which are quick-drying, chlorine-resistant, and resist deformation in water.
Main types
There are several basic silhouettes of these swimsuits, adapted to different tasks and body types.

- A-line silhouette (flared). A model with a fitted bodice and a loose skirt, referencing retro style and pin-up aesthetics.
- Sporty (straight cut). Simple, pleated pieces. The skirt is often complemented by side slits for freedom of movement during active swimming.

- With an asymmetrical hem. Swimsuits with a longer skirt at the back or side, as well as models with a wrap-around design, creating a complex geometric silhouette.
- Transformers. Products with special side drawstrings or ties that allow you to adjust the length of the skirt or gather it into a drape.
What to combine with
A swimsuit dress allows you to create the perfect beach look. For an elegant resort outfit, pair it with espadrilles, wedge clogs, or leather mules. Sportier styles are paired with simple flat sandals or aqua shoes.

The dress's silhouette complements wide-brimmed straw hats, oversized sunglasses, and voluminous woven tote bags. Since the swimsuit already covers the hips, instead of a classic pareo, it's paired with lightweight, unbuttoned linen shirts, translucent chiffon kimonos, or long beach cardigans.
