What is a buggy?
Baggy Baggy fit is an extremely loose, baggy cut that creates the effect of deliberately large volume. The term "baggy fit" is most often applied to jeans and trousers, denoting a specific relaxed fit with deep folds at the bottom of the legs.

The style originated in hip-hop culture and skateboarding in the 1990s and early 2000s. It became a kind of protest against classic tight clothing, offering maximum freedom of movement and a distinctly informal appearance.
It's important to distinguish baggy from classic oversized. Oversized clothing is a proportionally larger version of a standard garment. Baggy clothing is a specific cut, initially designed to be baggy, with increased volume in the hips and legs, but with a waistband that matches the size.
Distinctive features of the style
The key feature of baggy pants is their rise. Most often, it's low-rise or mid-rise, with the waistband sitting loosely on the hips without being tightly clinging to the body.

The width of the legs remains uniform from the hip to the hem, completely eliminating any taper toward the ankle. The length of these trousers is intentionally longer. The elongated cut allows the dense fabric to drape over the shoes in voluminous folds (called accordion pleats).

To create the correct silhouette, shape-resistant materials are used. Classic baggy pants are made from thick denim, heavy cotton, or structural nylon. These fabrics are able to hold their bulky shape without sagging or forming the characteristic rigid folds.
What to combine with
A basic technique for styling baggy jeans is the rule of volume contrast. Pairing baggy jeans with a fitted top helps maintain the silhouette's proportions. Crop tops, bodysuits, fitted long sleeves, and turtlenecks are used to achieve this.

As part of the streetwear aesthetic, baggy pants are paired with similarly oversized pieces. An authentic, relaxed look is created by pairing wide-leg pants with oversized hoodies, graphic T-shirts, and bomber jackets.
Footwear is crucial for this style. The wide, long legs call for chunky shoes that will balance the silhouette and not get lost under the fabric. Thick-soled sneakers (like skater styles), chunky platform boots, and loafers with chunky soles are ideal.
