Пуловер - 1
Classic cashmere V-neck pullover

The name comes from the English phrase "pull over," which translates as "to pull from above." The main distinguishing feature of the garment is the V-neckline. This detail distinguishes the pullover from a turtleneck sweater and a crewneck jumper.

Historically, the pullover emerged in the 19th century as an element of sportswear. Its comfort and lack of restrictive fastenings made it popular among golfers and tennis players. Coco Chanel introduced the pullover into women's everyday wardrobes in the 1920s, becoming a symbol of elegant practicality.

Distinctive features

A precise V-neckline of varying depths is the pullover's key design feature. This neckline visually elongates the neck and elongates the silhouette.

Traditionally, a pullover has a fitted or semi-fitted cut. It fits more snugly than a classic sweater. Pullovers are made from smooth, fine knits. The most common are cashmere, merino wool, and cotton with silk or viscose blends.

Unlike sweaters, pullovers are rarely knitted with voluminous, textured patterns, such as large cables. They also lack buttons, zippers, and other decorative fasteners.

What to combine with

In business attire, a pullover is the foundation of classic layering. It's worn over a tailored cotton shirt with the collar and cuffs exposed. This outfit is complemented with straight-leg trousers with a pleat or a pencil skirt.

Smart casual style allows for a thin cashmere pullover worn bare or over a smooth silk top. Pair this look with straight-leg jeans and leather loafers.

Pair a pullover with a houndstooth jacket and straight jeans

For a preppy look, wear a pullover with a contrasting trim along the neckline. Pair it with a pleated skirt, thick tights, and a blazer. The V-neckline also leaves plenty of room for accessories, allowing you to add a silk scarf or a simple pendant on a thin chain.
