What is tulle?
Fatin — is a lightweight mesh fabric that creates a translucent, airy surface. The material's structure is a weave of fine threads, forming a honeycomb-like mesh. This structure gives the fabric both weightlessness and elasticity.

Historically, this material was made from nylon fibers. Modern versions are made primarily from polyester, which significantly increases the strength and wear resistance of the fabric.
Initially, mesh was created for theatrical costumes, ballet tutus, and classic wedding veils. Over time, the material began to be widely used in everyday and evening fashion to create additional volume in clothing.
Main types
Depending on the thread density and mesh size, there are several types of material. Stiff tulle is used primarily for creating frames, multi-layered petticoats, and stage sets. Medium-stiff tulle is considered a versatile option that holds its shape well.

A soft type, often called Eurotulle, it has a flowing texture. It doesn't itch when in contact with the skin and is used for delicate dresses and skirts.
Based on surface texture, the material is divided into classic matte, which absorbs light, and shiny, with a characteristic smooth shimmer. Modern manufacturers also produce spandex tulle with the addition of elastane fibers, which gives the fabric stretch and a snug fit.
Decorative mesh varieties are complemented by glitter spraying, flock in the form of velvet polka dots, thread embroidery, or voluminous textile appliqués.
What to combine with
Tulle styling is based on the principle of contrasting textures. The airy and transparent fabric looks most striking when paired with dense, coarse materials: smooth leather, heavy denim, or voluminous wool.
For everyday looks, pair a layered midi skirt made of soft mesh with a basic cotton T-shirt, a classic denim jacket, and white leather sneakers. For a grunge-inspired look, pair a black tulle skirt with a biker jacket and chunky lace-up boots.

Evening and romantic occasions call for dresses with sheer panels or puffy sleeves. These pieces are complemented with minimalist pumps and sleek metallic accessories without unnecessary embellishment.

Tulle items require careful care. Hand wash only in cool water without wringing and hang to dry flat on a hanger. Ironing is recommended exclusively with a steamer or iron at the lowest temperature through a protective cotton cloth.
