What is a questionnaire?
Anklet An anklet is a bracelet worn on the ankle. Historically, this adornment originated in Ancient Egypt and India, where it served as an indicator of a woman's social status, income, or marital status.

In modern Western fashion, the anklet became a popular accessory in the mid-20th century. It transformed from a strict status marker into a decorative element of the summer wardrobe.
Anklets differ from wrist bracelets in their design, featuring a larger diameter. They are often complemented by an extension chain for precise size adjustment based on the anatomical features of the ankle.
Main types
There are several basic configurations of anklets, differing in materials and style:
- Thin metal chains — minimalist basic models made of gold, silver, or jewelry alloys. They most often feature a classic anchor or curb weave.
- Anklets with pendants (charms) — chains adorned with decorative elements. Miniature pendants, coins, crystals, or pearls are used as inlays.
- Braided and beaded models — informal jewelry typical of boho and beach styles. They are created from textile threads, colored beads, glass beads, or natural shells.
- Hard bracelets (ankle cuffs) — open metal rings or wide, smooth plates. They hold their shape well and don't sag on the leg.

How to wear
The key to styling an anklet is a completely exposed ankle. Anklets pair well with cropped straight jeans, culottes, shorts, and dresses and skirts of any length that don't cover the ankle.

Shoes should leave the bracelet strap visible. Open sandals, mules, classic loafers, pumps, and low-top sneakers are all suitable for this purpose. Avoid shoes with ankle straps to avoid creating a visual clash with the lines of your leg.
According to modern etiquette, anklets are worn exclusively on bare feet. They are not worn over nylon tights, stockings, or socks.

The choice of a specific model depends on the overall style of the outfit. Thin gold or silver chains are appropriate for a casual urban wardrobe. Chunky pieces with shells, bright beads, or large stones are perfect for resort and beach outfits.
