Let's calculate the cost per wear. A special sheath dress with gathered sides will cost you around €50. You'll wear it for two months and happily throw it away after giving birth. 5. Loose-fitting palazzo trousers with a low rise. Wear them right under your belly. It's a thousand times more comfortable than maternity pants with a high nylon insert that makes your belly sweat.

How to make regular clothes fit a pregnant woman's figure

When buying items from regular collections, we use the size-up rule—we go up 1-2 sizes. But there's a fair limit to this. This rule does not work if you have narrow, sloping shoulders and the volume increases exclusively in the abdominal area. Simply going two sizes too big will cause the shoulder line to drop, making you look uneven. In this case, buy your actual shoulder size, but choose an A-line style or have the oversized garment adjusted at the shoulder seam.

Belts are also acceptable, but only above the belly (empire style), and only if it's a thin, stiff leather belt on a loose shirt dress, not a wide elastic band from the 2010s.

Office Shoes for Swelling: How to Maintain a Look in the Heat

The third trimester and summer heat are guaranteed to cause swelling. Pumps become instruments of torture, and open-toed Birkenstocks violate business protocol (and, let's be honest, ruin the look).

Physiology is such that maximum swelling of the foot occurs between 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm. Never buy shoes in the morning. Go to the fitting after work.

What to choose for the office:

• Closed-toe mules: Preferably made of intrecciato leather. The leather easily adapts to the width of the foot, and the open heel does not pinch the Achilles tendon.
• Kitten heel slingbacks: An adjustable strap is a must. Tighten it in the morning and loosen it in the evening.
• Soft suede loafers with a folding heel (babouche): The perfect compromise between formal shoes and house slippers.

Silhouette architecture: visual techniques of a stylist

If you want to look prestigious, you need to command the attention of others. My favorite technique is unbuttoned layer technique You put on a basic top or dress that fits your figure (yes, knitwear is allowed here), and throw on a thick men's shirt or a long vest over it, leaving it unbuttoned.

What does this do? The open sides of the top layer create two distinct vertical lines. They visually cut off the volume at the sides, elongate the height, and create a slimmer, more dynamic silhouette.

The second trick is light monochrome. A set in a single shade (ecru, sage, butter) always looks twice as expensive as its actual price (in the mass-market range of €50–€150). Furthermore, light fabrics simply reflect the sun's rays.

And don't forget about the portrait area. Geometric earrings, a men's watch on a metal bracelet, and a sleek, well-groomed hairstyle create a relaxed, oversized look.
